Description

Start with a short body awareness warming up: notice... standing, your spine, feeling of weight, connection to the ground, balance, observing breathing.
Invite participants to notice what is holding them physically: the ground, gravity, the structure of their body.

Then they work in pairs: they gently lean on each other in different ways and observe what it feels like to hold and be held. Allow time for experimentation so that they can try as many different balances as possible, encourage them to vary, to lean on ea other in different ways.
After a short reflection, in the next step, invite the group to create a common balance. A position where everyone can lean on someone. Hold the position for a minute and notice where they feel unstable, stable.
Variation: have someone change positions or even step out and - observe what happens to the balance, to participants. (Paying attention to physical safety).

After individual reflection, talk about what systems keep us going in our everyday lives and how the balances change. (e.g. daily rhythm, habits, air, water, community, infrastructure, etc.) With the discussed characters, you can recreate the system, using even a thread or string to make the connections visible.
Reflection question ideas:
– What keeps you going in your everyday life?
– Which connections do you not usually pay attention to?
– How stable is this system?
– What happens if an element is missing?
