Objetivos:

  • The aim of the activity is to recognize nature within ourselves, in our bodies, in our homes, or even together in a closed training location, i.e. everywhere. The advantage of the practice is that it can be done online, outdoors, and indoors.

Preparación A space where you can meditate and reflect on a "story"-like input.

Materiales necesarios: If required, a notebook and pen for participants to take notes.

Invite participants to a reflective exercise where you tell them some story-like data, and they can take notes, draw, or just think about what you said. After the story, it is worth including a reflection that is tailored to the further program, which can go in the direction of specific natural knowledge or systems thinking, or even deep ecology.

An example of a story that you can rewrite or supplement in your own words:
“Going out into nature” - we often say, while nature surrounds us everywhere, we ourselves and are part of it, and even other living beings live inside us. Every human body has a huge microbiome - trillions of microorganisms form a living ecosystem that shapes our health and emotions. Together, these microbes can weigh up to one or two kilograms, they are more numerous than our own cells, and together with us they form a single, deeply interconnected biological system.
Wherever we are, we remain part of nature: we breathe air shaped by forests and oceans, drink water that has moved through soil, rivers, and clouds, and carry these cycles within us. Even inside a closed room, our bodies still respond to daylight, temperature, and the quiet rhythm of the seasons.
Even in a room (or this room), we are in nature. Have you ever thought about these?....

Do you know where the water from your tap comes from, and where it travels after it leaves your sink?
Do you know what happens to your trash after it disappears from your home?
When you look out of the window, do you recognize the plants, trees, or birds that share this place with you?
Do you know which direction is north from where you are sitting right now?
Can you notice how the light in this room changes with the time of day or the season?
Can you sense how your breathing connects you to the air outside, even through walls and windows?
What parts of the natural world are quietly present in this room right now?

How are we other ways part of the system?
Discuss this in small groups….

Variaciones

Storytelling can be followed by a slower, more meditative or faster, more cognitive practice.
