Nature Connection Indoor
Uploaded by: Kriszta Vásárhelyi
Objectives:
- In addition to the calming and stress-relieving effect of nature connection, the exercise brings you into the present, helps to harmonize the group, and focus attention. It can also be used as a break or energizer.
Preparation: Prepare natural elements, present them in a basket or on a natural blanket.
Tools needed: Small or large natural treasures so that each participant gets one, for example: stick, tree branch, moss, leaves, stones, dried mushrooms, apples, bark, mud, houseplant, shell, feather. They can all be the same (e.g. lots of fallen leaves or an apple cut into many slices). If possible, do not tear off a living plant for this.
Description
You can start the attunement, arrival with a short conscious breathing or a short breathing exercise you already know, this helps to focus attention and refine the senses.
When they have arrived, invite them to choose a natural treasure and take it in their hands. Let them examine the object with all their senses, you guide them through this at a slow, gentle pace, with pauses, in an inviting style with your own words.
First, let them examine the object with their exes, rotate it, observe how the light shines on it, look at the outlines, shadows...
Let them observe it with their eyes closed, using only their touch. Feel its weight and how it meets their hands, stroke it with their hands, then touch it to other skin surfaces, e.g. the back of the hand, face…
After this comes hearing: they can put it very close to their ears and carefully rub, knock, crunch (choose words that are connectiong to the objects), and listen, still with closed eyes…
After this, they can smell it closely, deeply, several times even…
And finally, if the object is suitable for this, they can taste it, feel its taste…
After the encounter, put the objects back, but if theylike, they can also stay with them as natural companions for the duration of the further exercises.
Variations
The exercise can also be done in nature, where there are many locally found treasures available.
Sharing or further conversation can be added, this makes the activity longer.
