Objectives:

Preparation: Collect the options that are to be voted.

Tools needed: Options/suggestions written on a white board. Markers or post-it notes.

With an online version, a digital platform with the possibility to mark dots/symbols next to the text (Miro, Google Docs, some Jamboard alternative etc).

Description

The method is a part of a decision making process, when there is a need to vote on different options..

Participants are each given a set number of dots/stickers (number decided by the facilitator). They place dot/sticker next to options presented that they like, they may place any number of their dots on any number of the options. Options with the most dots at the end of voting win.

Variations

Using different color dots to signify different values, e.g. green for “like” and red for “dislike”.

Using a digital platform instead of onsite meeting.
