Preparation: A short introduction to odes and obituaries in western and eastern culture/literature, according to participants' age and education level.

Tools needed: paper, pens

Description

Participants are introduced to odes and obituaries. Participants choose a natural phenomenon, weather or part of nature that they want either to praise or mourn. Participants write an ode or an obituary to the chosen phenomenon.
It will be agreed beforehand that it is not necessary to share the text if it is too personal.

Reflection: participants can share their texts or at least some thoughts on the process and emotions. The group will support with emotional responses.

Variations

Concentrating the text topics toward a certain phenomenon agreed together: climate change, some local biodiversity factor or local nature.
The texts can be displayed.
The texts can be used as a tool for further work with eco-emotions.
