Moon Ball game
Objectives:
- Group work, joint planning, strategic thinking, problem solving
Preparation: The exercise needs space for the group, preferably outdoors.
Tools needed: Beach ball, paper and pen for counting the scores, someone counting the hits
Description
Form the group(s). Tell the instructions and give the group some minutes to plan a strategy.
Players must hit the ball as many times as possible and keep the ball in the air without it falling on the ground as long as possible. Players cannot hit the ball again until all others have hit the ball once; they can only use their hands to hit the ball;
the trial ends when the ball hits the ground or other surface.
Reflection: what happened in the group? What affected team learning? Was it the time spent planning or the pressure to get better or both? And what other things might have had an impact?
Variations
- The group decides a minimum number of hits to achieve.
- The players can hit the ball with any part of their body.
