Description
This is a fun and meaningful introduction activity that helps set a natural, grounded tone for the day or training.
Participants sit in a circle — if possible and comfortable, sitting on the floor creates a more relaxed and connected atmosphere. Ask each person to choose a name inspired by a natural element or an animal they feel a connection to. It can be a single word or a two-word name, similar to traditional Indigenous-style naming (e.g. "Silent River" or "Running Fox").
Invite participants to introduce themselves using this chosen name, along with a brief explanation of why they picked it. If appropriate for the group, encourage them to use these names throughout the training.
Some past examples include: Dew of the Morning Grass, Silent Forest, Grey Clouds, Herd of Running Zebras, and Still Mountain.
